Educator | Collaborator

I have been working in community to create large-scale art projects for over 25 years. Most recently I have been developing curriculum in collaboration with young leaders across the country fighting for systemic change at I Am Why. Some of these leaders were once my students and to work alongside them as colleagues is what transformative and intergenerational collaboration is about. Some of the projects we have developed together include I Am Motherhood: The Manifesto zine, the I Am Why core curriculum and many others.

As an educator the art curriculum I build focuses on social justice issues with the themes, content and techniques of contemporary artists woven throughout.

As a collaborator I work in community to create art that sparks dialogue and energizes spaces. Storytelling through visual imagery leads to transformative experiences for individuals, groups and systems.

Co-Founding and working as the executive director of Artistic Noise for over 16 years set me on a path of authentic artistic collaboration rooted in social practice to amplify work focused on social justice issues and systemic change. Art amplifies voices, builds connection, and grounds us as we create. The stories we tell through visual media can create the change needed to build a world where we can all thrive.
